Chris Lukezic has been a standout in the middle-distances for the US for many years. Luckily we were able to rope him into doing a Twitter feed to see what he goes through day-to-day as a professional athlete.

One of American distance running’s top prospects, Chris Lukezic offered to do a twitter feed for TwoAngryRunners.com on Wednesday. Lukezic has finished fourth in the 1500m at the U.S.  Outdoor Championships four times, was a two-time U.S. Junior 1500m Champion and holds a personal best of 3:33.28 set in 2006. Unfortunately due to technical difficulties, we were unable to broadcast Chris’ Twitter feed live, but here is the transcript.

8:45 a.m.: Hey everybody! Thanks for reading my twitter, hopefully I can give you a fuller view of life as a professional runner, but man am I sore! Yesterdays workout was tough, tough, tough. We did 4 x 1000 quick and my little footsies are soooo sore. They always get beat up after that fast hard stuff on the track. I’ll have to get them rubbed later by my personal masseur Ricardo. He is a miracle worker!

9:31 a.m.: Just completed my stretch and core routine before I go out for a run. I have decided to wear my favorite cashmere-lined koala bear racing socks with a Reebok half zip and full spandex leggings. If you see me running in Rock Creek don’t be jealous fellas. I have sculpted this body over many years. You can get one just like it through hard work…. JK, no you can’t! Haha. Ciao!

12:01 p.m.: Brrrrrrrr, it was cold out there! I managed 55 minutes on the trails, but it was not easy. The wind was blowing in my face like the whole time! It was like, come onnnn, would you give it a rest already?!  To reward myself, I took a hot bath that was Tony the Tiger Grrrrrreeeat and am now wearing this super hot terry cloth robe Nate B. gave me this past weekend. Time to do some work on my biggggg project (shhhhhh! It’s a secret, I’ll tell you soon though) BBL Ballas!

3:07 p.m.: Sometimes having a big project is fun, and other times, it is not. Today was one of those days where it was a major bummer. My motto for days like this is: When the going gets tough, the tough go SHOPPING!! I am currently behind the wheel of my 2009 mini Cooper while rocking my new Prada jacket, Diesel capris and Affliction undershirt. I be feelin fresh to dizef. Off to M St. we zoooooooooom.

5:45 p.m.: Shopping really IS the best medicine. I feel so much better. I dropped some casheesh on new D&G shades and an alligator skin bag. Yeah, yeah, I know you’re saying it’s probably a man purse, but it’s really not. It’s a bag – a very, big rectangular bag with zipper that I carry under my arm. Anywaaaaaaaaay, I had to stop for some sushi and am now running late for my appointment at Diego’s Hair Salon in Dupont. From there, it’s off to Results to get some lifting in and see Ricardo for my daily massage. Ciao’ers

8:12 p.m. : Man am I tired, what a workout. The lifting was super easy because I am “strong like bull” (LOL), but the massage made me grab the table in agony. My boy Ricardo really put a hurtin on me. My glutes are realllllly sore, but my feet are responding well. Maybe it’s just these awesome slippers. I am going to eat some dinner – Kobe Beef, Asparagus and Potatoes Au Gratin. Deee-lish! Ttyl.

10:31 p.m.:  Hey guys! I’m just sitting here in my Calvin Klein boxer briefs and matching undershirt. I finished my night with some Raspberry Sorbet and watched No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain. That show is my absoluto favorito behind my guilty pleasure Nip/Tuck. I hope you enjoyed my feed for the day, this was fun. I will be racing at USA Indoors next weekend, so cheer me on. I do give autographs after the race, so don’t be shy! Oh crap, my coach Juli is calling on the other line. She reads me stories over the phone before bed. Gotta go!
